Boys Varsity Baseball · SVHS Senior Baseball Players Prove to be Outstanding On and Off the Field


Stillman Valley has 10 senior boys that just celebrated their last senior night.  “This group embodies the idea of an interscholastic experience that involves high school athletics, activities, academics, and community involvement,” stated SVHS Activities Director, Heather Alderks. These seniors have among them four 3-sport athletes, six 2-sport athletes and many All-Conference athletes in football, soccer, basketball and baseball.  This group also has one of the marching band drum majors and 7 members from the school musical.  They also have members that were in the state qualifying Chess Team, Wyse Team and the Math Team.  Academically, these boys achieve to the highest standard with 4 IL State Scholars and an average cumulative GPA of 3.59. They serve their community by being involved in mission trips, camp counseling, junior tackle, Reading Buddies, The Bread of Life Food Pantry distribution, concession stands and helping community members with everyday life.  Alderks stated, “I received a letter this fall that explained how several of these boys helped a citizen move furniture out of the house for new carpeting and then came back after the carpet was installed to move it back.”  Scott Wilhite, SVHS Baseball Coach said, “This senior group has been a pleasure to coach this year.  Their leadership, work ethic, and desire to be the best has left an lasting impression on me and the baseball program as whole.  I look forward to following their success as they move on to the next chapter of their lives.”
